New Chick Dads

Me and my partner just got our first flock. They are in the brooder and I swear they grow every 5 minutes. We are already having a blast. We are starting out with 8 ladies. 2 Rhode Island Reds, 2 Amber Whites, 2 Black Australorpes, and 2 Americanas. I wil be asking a lot of questions I'm sure.

Welcome to Backyard chickens . Congratulations on your first flock, the Americanas will actually be Easter Eggers but, they are delightful and generally produce pastel eggs in various colors.

Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided join our flock. You have a nice mix of breeds. Black Australorps are my favorite standard breed. I've raised them for years (along with dozens of other breeds), and they are extremely hardy, calm and gentle (my children and granddaughter made lap pets of them), and the best layers of the standard, brown egg laying breeds. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck with your chicks.
