new chick has a wierd leg??? HELP

Our chick hatched on Saturday and one of his legs is looking a bit wierd
he cannot put it down, it stays up and the joint where I think would be his knee is a little swollen, it looks like it has a bit of a scab
He is eating and drinking but not on his own. I put the water and food near and he eats. He does hop around a lot but then sleeps a lot too..
Any suggestions????
Poor little guy, I am feeling bad for him but he does not seem to be in any pain. He gets a little annoyed when I try to extend his leg

How is he doing? I am wondering if he has a slipped tendon (I have no experience in chicks, but was told one of my ducklings might have it).


You might want to search (use the search link in the upper blue bar - just above your logged in name) - it will allow you to search different forums - I would search this one and the chick raising one.
