Hey BYCers, I'm the new chick on the block (hahah, ok, maybe not funny) so I thought I'd introduce myself...
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
We owned a farm growing up and had chickens, cows, goats, pigs, horses... you get the drift. Now I'm living in the suburbs and decided to get a few (OK 5) chicks a few weeks ago.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
I have 5
(3) What breeds do you have?
I have a silkie and 4 RIRs
The silkie's name is Chick Norris, the others are Mia, Daisy, Penny and Dixie
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
I enjoy watching the chickens. They all seem to have their own personalities.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I enjoy adventures in my 2018 Jeep Wrangler, riding my Harley Softail Deluxe, camping, home improvement, photography and cooking
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I also have a n 8 year old mini-pin who is very interested in becoming a chicken sibling
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I found BYC searching for ideas for the coop. Y'all have some pretty fancy coops out there!! There is so much knowledge and information that I find myself coming back to to the site time and time again. The members are super helpful and willing to share which is awesome. Great job on the site!!
