Hi,
I am sort of new to chickens. I had a very small flock of bantam hens when my girls were younger. We enjoyed them very much and eventually lost them to coyotes! So 15 years later I decided to try again, and am coyote proofing this time!
I recently ordered a colored egg assortment from Hoovers Hatchery - minimum order of 15. I didn't know if all would survive shipment, but they did and I lost one just a few days ago at 2 weeks old. So I have 14. They are just over 2 weeks old. I have Americauna, Prairie Bluebell, Olive Egger, French Black Copper Maran, Cuckoo Maran.
I work from home and live on a farm. I love the sustainability aspect - I am a gardener and my husband hunts. We enjoy the outdoors and we wanted chickens to add to our family.
We are empty nesters, with three adult children. We have 2 Labrador retrievers and 2 cats.
I have known about backyard chickens for sometime and read forum posts in the past. I'm sure I found you by google search!
Today I have a question, I'm hoping to get some help
Thanks!
Georgia
