New to this forum and chickens in general. I have a new group of chickens I got from a very good breeder, among them is three Americana chicks. One of them is sneezing quite a bit. I use the same bedding as the breeder which is soft pine shavings. She does not have any runny nose, isn't fatigued, and displays no sign of illness. The new group is segregated from my existing flock which lives outside and they have not made any contact.
No other chick in my new group of 12 sneezes at all. I am concerned about her. Is this sort of thing normal for some individual chicks?

Sorry I don't have time for a huge answer, but no this is not normal. An occasional sneeze is normal, but if it's always the same bird and it's regular, something else may be going on. Like think if the wind kicks up a bunch of dust and you sneeze, normal, but if you're sneezing for days, not normal. I had one pullet that sneezed, only sometimes, but it got more frequent and she eventually got sicker. Just because the other birds aren't showing symptoms doesn't mean they aren't carriers. Think when a cold goes through your school or office place, not everyone is the same level of sick at the same time and not everyone is affected as drastically. It is very possible they can infect the rest of your flock and you must decide if you ever want to introduce them or return the birds or medicate the new group and integrate when symptoms are gone or how you want to handle it. Integration causes stress on birds, when birds are stressed they are prone to illness, when you throw them all together, it is quite possible under these stressful conditions your existing flock will catch whatever it is.
