Hi Everyone:
just started raising chickens, got my first pullets on March 20th, and then brought in 2 more and a Pekin duck on April 11th! I have one red hen, 2 titi-tins(they are a mixture between a leghorn and a red hen), one broiler chicken(who turned out to be a rooster,oh my) and 2 rhode island red chicks! the broiler chicken started it all when i got a call from my daughter saying her son's preschool was hatching eggs so do I want aa chick, well yes i said, which found me headed to TSC to find a buddy for the new chick, turns out I had to buy 6 (shared 3 with my son), and so my doting on these crreatures begin! they are just starting to go outside, except for the younger two and the duck, she or he goes out for a little while, gets to swim either in the bathtub or in the turtle's pool. we have a nice fenced in area for the chickens, which yesterday , quackers,my duck, decided it likes it in there, so that's cool. have several questions, like what can i put on my duck so she doesn't poop everywhere, we like her to wander in the house, and two she is deeply attached to the rhodde island chicks, as they are in the same brooder together? how big of aa coop for six ladies?, okay 5, not sure if we are keeping the rooster! so, i hope to learn a ton on this forum! Have a great day!!!
