Welcome to BYC!! I am very close to Kingston myself so we are practically neighbors. You might like the Massachusetts state thread. There are at least a few other BYC members nearby. You can find it here:

Don’t feel like you have to read the whole thread either, you can just jump right in at the end and introduce yourself there as well if you want.
And I wish you luck with your chickens!! You will love those breeds and it will be a very fun experience for your kids I am sure!! I have 1 Barred Rock, 2 Black Australorps, 2 Buff Orpingtons (it was 3), and 2 Easter Eggers and I love them all. I hope you do too. I also have 5 more chicks coming in April but not until the end of the month. 1 Speckled Sussex, 1 Delaware, 1 White Leghorn, 1 Partridge Rock, and 1 Easter Egger. I love my Easter Eggers enough to get a third one and I absolutely love my Rock and wanted to try another color variety. So I am sure you will enjoy yours as well!! Chickens are so much fun. They all have such unique personalities and it is fun watching them develop and watching their antics. And of course the eggs are a nice bonus.
the colored eggs from the EEs are especially cool and fun. And also Easter Eggers are a lot of fun to watch grow up. They change so much practically daily and how they look as chicks is not necessarily how they will look when they grow up so I am sure your kids will love that.
Here is a very interesting website with all sorts of pictures of many different Easter Eggers growing up. They are very fun to watch change.
