New chicken family

I have just registered as I am always reading threads on here and it seems to be great advice!
Thank you all

Our hen and cockerel have just become parents for the first time! So far 3 have hatched.
Advice as to when mum hen will start eating and drink normal again please?

Hiya, and welcome to BYC! Congrats on the new chicks!!

Your hen will return to eating, drinking, and pooping normally shortly after she gets her little ones out of the nest and to the food and water. I would put chick starter crumbles in the feeder as even the adults can have that, and that way the chicks are getting what they need too.

I'd sit out a dish of oyster shell for the hens though as that chick starter doesn't have much calcium as hens need.

Congrats on your new family! @Debbie292d has given you perfect advice! Mom knows what to do with her babies, keep feeding chick starter, the entire flock will benefit from it, especially the rooster who doesn't need the high calcium layer feed, oyster shell on the side.
