Introducing myself!!! I’m in western NC and I’ve got a small goat farm, with 5 alpines and 2 Nigerian dwarfs, and I’ve got several breeds of chickens. My ladies as I call them when they follow me around the yard are game chickens, Golden Comets, and Black Marans…. I’ve also got 3 roosters who tend to their flock, each are kept in separate barns and yards…. They all get to free range and are happy healthy chickens with such different personalities!!!

Thanks for the warm welcome, farming is definitely a great close knit community!! This is my new Nigerian Dwarf buckling (he was born 4/30)… he plays goat during the day but at sunset he’s ready to come back in the house and settle into his kennel 🤣. Once he gets a little bigger he will turn into a full time goat 🤣.
he’s the only male with testicals so he will be breed to my alpine females, that is what’s called a mini-Alpine (they are high milk producers with a higher butter fat content), and to his Nigerian Wife 🤣. So far she’s not impressed with him but he will grow on her!
