I received my chicks on Apr. 25th. Currently have 4 breeds... Golden and Silver Laced Polish, Rhode Island White, and Buff Orpingtons. I really enjoy them as they have added to our farm. Our coop was built from left over pieces around the farm with the exception of windows and insulation which are brand new. I free range a very limited amount as I don't want them in our garden. It is pure enjoyment to just take a chair and watch them. Mine are pretty friendly.

Welcome to the flock, very glad you joined us

Welcome to BYC! I know how you feel about the garden :) we had to build a fence around ours. They trample it like a herd of elephants

Wow, didn't expect to have greetings already... Our farm includes 1 cat, 2 kittens, 160+ head beef cattle, my Great Pyrenees, a lab, Australian Shepherd/Border collie mix, 4 pigs...and now 30 feathery friends...I LOVE IT!!! ~~~ not to forget my other half of 3 wonderful years :)

I have added more panels to their coop as they grow... I didn't think I would enjoy it as much as I do!!!

Welcome to BYC! Glad to hear your birds are friendly. I've had Buff Orpingtons for years (still have some), and they are very friendly and gentle birds. My children, and now my granddaughter, made pets of them. I used to have some Golden Polish and they were not quite as friendly as the BOs, but they were gorgeous birds. Good luck with your flock.
