Michigan
Hatching
Hello all! Love this site, very informative and pleasant community. I finally decided to give raising some hens for eggs a try. I picked up 6 ISA Brown Pullets from TSC about 3 weeks ago. Still have them in a brooder I built and trying to finish the coop/run. I was told that once they have their feathers they should be able to be put outside but it's still a little chilly here in Michigan so I am giving the weather a little longer to cooperate. Plus I have to finish my coop yet! I have been racking my brain back and forth about putting pea gravel down in the run or just using sand, I buried fence underneath the entire coop but am second guessing myself for fear the chickens may dig it up and hurt themselves on it. Learning the hard way I guess!
