Yes it is hardware cloth....is that a bad thing? I hope not but being new to this all, I hope we didn't make a mistake. We hope to enlarge the area soon by putting a repurposed 6X13 chain link dog run. We will put hardware cloth under ground to try & keep out predators, as well as putting a smaller opening type fencing around the lower part of the chain link. And we will put most likely chicken wire over the top to keep out those nasty predator birdies that we have around. The coop we bought now seems so small to me & I pity Gertie & Gracie since they don't have loads of room to roam in. I have see some other color Orpingtons that I would love to have!
