Hey everyone. I had chickens growing up and decided 3 weeks or so ago to give it another go. It started as a 12 chick purchase from the local TSC, 6 Jersey Giant Pullets and 6 Barred Rock straight run chicks. It has bloomed into the addition of 11 straight run Easter eggers and 3 Australop Pullets for a total for 26. Wife and kids became as addicted as i am. Lol 😂 Found the site just looking for knowledge and decided to join. I am in the process of building the 10x10 enclosed coop with large open air run attached. They are currently living in my living room 🤦‍♂️🤷🏼‍♂️. Looking forward to being

My hubby thought I was crazy starting with 16 chicks, I just let him know I'm not the only addict that you have 26. LoL Congrats on the new babies!!

I went in to TSC and Agway for garden items and almost got more. I have a huge taj-ma-chicken (😂) going up so I have room for some more during the summer but not maybe not so in the winter.

LOL :lau my hubby is building one too, we are almost done thank heavens! The coop is 6'x8' with a 9'x8' attached run. We had to use some pallets, scrap wood and so forth, as the stores down here are running out of materials so fast. It's bigger than we originally planned, when I told him I wanted to breed a few beings we have a few roosters, and hatch them out ourselves. Rofl!! It's my job to paint tomorrow while he finishes the hardware cloth and doors. I feel fortunate to have found red barn paint from 2 different Walmart stores for a fantastic price.
