Hi. I'm Shell.
Me and Rou my OH sort of tricked one another into starting our new chicken family at the end of February this year.
He had built a green house that he'd covered in heavy duty plastic and mesh so that our 5 cats couldn't scratch it, 2 years previous. It's a nice 10x6.
So without further a do he'd ripped out all the shelf stands, put in sand and a coop and even fitted a cat flap so our new hens could have access to the outdoor run during the day.

In March we got our girls.
We became the proud owners of Daisy, Melissa, Miss Clucky, Chow how and Hae Hae. They are a speckledy, white star, bluebell, Rhodes Island red, crossbreed and a Warren. It hasn't stopped there... We now have 2 silkies we got last week. A white one called Pom Pom and a partridge called Nugget. They look a bit riffy as the get their face covered in water melon,, but they seem happy. And our grand kids love all of them.
So Hi! We've already been gleaming loads of good info from this community and today decided to become a part of it.
