(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I am! We got our chickens at the end of April this year (2023).
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
We have 7 chickens.
(3) What breeds do you have?
We were told Ameraucana (2), Barred Rock (2), Blue Cochin (2), and 1 mystery chick that I think is a Cuckoo Maran given coloring and legs, but we don't know!
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
The best part by far is watching them. Chickens are endlessly entertaining.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I do some fiber arts like knitting and crochet. We all love TTG, making music, and other art.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
We're a family of now 12! That is, my spouse, teen, 5 year old, and a 3 year old cat named Jack--plus 7 chickens.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I found BYC through googling before we got chickens to get all the stuff we needed.
