Hi, My name is Tammy. I am a new chicken mama with several questions, I want to learn the most i can about my girls to give them the best life I can!

(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? We got our girls on June 1st

(2) How many chickens do you have right now? We have 8

(3) What breeds do you have? I thought we got 8 Red Crosses but 2 look a little different and act a little different. Maybe isa browns but their personalities don't seem to match up to what I am reading about isa browns

(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens? They are funny girls, they get so excited to see us walking up to the coop and of course fresh eggs are hard to beat!

(5) What are some of your other hobbies? I like spending time with my family and friends, we like traveling, gardening. My husband Dennis is in a band so I like going to see him play.

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share. We have 2 adult children, no other pets right now

(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community? I found BYC when I was searching for answers to some questions that I have about our flock. I joined to learn more about the girls and to be able to ask a few questions

You'll find that keeping chickens is a lot easier than you might have guessed. And there's always someone experienced around here to help with the stuff that may, eventually, get complicated. Mostly though, they want their feed, some clean water and a safe place to live. After that, it's pretty much laughs, eggs and that lovely feeling that you're part of something wonderful.
