New Chicken Mama

Hi all! My name is Jackie and I have 4 Hy-Line brown hens I saved from a life of commercial egg laying.....I live in Pennsylvania and this year the weather has been very hot and humid for my girls! I have a question for you all..two of my girls seem to have swollen chicken butts...they swell then they go down....why? and what is causing this?

What do you mean by them having swollen butts? Is it their vents that are swollen, or is it their abdomens? If the swelling is abdominal, does it feel firm or soft?
