Welcome to BYC!!Hello! I’m still kinda new at this. I got 7 hens in July and they are now 23 weeks old. It’s been an interesting and fun ride!
(2) How many chickens do you have right now? I currently have 6…sadly we lost one a little over a week ago to an u known illness.
(3) What breeds do you have? 2 Road Island Reds, 1 Australorp, 1 Wyandotte, and 2 Silkie Showgirls
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens? They are entertaining, a fun new hobby, and hopefully eggs soon!
(5) What are some of your other hobbies? Gardening, homesteading (beginner)
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share. I have been married for 18 years and am a mother to 2 teenagers. I am an occupational therapist who works in home health. I’ve always wanted chickens and a hobby farm and now that the kids are older and doing more on their own, I’ve started to pursue my hobbies.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?I joined when i started getting more serious about getting chickens and needed to learn, learn, learn. I think I did an internet search with some questions. Almost everything I have needed to learn I have learned in this great community. I just posted a question about one of my girls not doing well this morning and I am hoping to get some help/advice!
