Hi everyone!! Expecting my new chicks next week, small family of 6! We live in the Fort Lauderdale area which is sub tropical with the days already in the 90's and its only April. We also have a ton of rain in the summer so, our climate is pretty unique. I have puchased a wood playhouse to transform into our small coop and will be building a large run for our girls. Looking forward to hearing suggestions and learning from you all. Thanks for having me!!

Hello and welcome to BYC! :frow Glad you joined.
I'd add more ventilation to that coop and secure all openings with 1/2" hardware cloth, make sure there are no gaps into the coop larger than 1/2" (look at the door) and replace all latches with something a toddler cannot open.
Good luck with your run build and coop modifications!!

Thank you and will do!! Luckily this house has a ton if windows which we plan in using hardware cloth on for security. Definitely need change hinges and make modifications. Another thing I need to do is seal the seams between the roof slats to keep the water out. So, lots of small tweaking to do. I'll keep you all posted once I actually get rolling.
