Hi, just starting out. Here's my intro info.
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Very new to chickens. We've had our chicks for 3 weeks now. They're doing great!
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
Four straight run chicks. Possibly adding two or three pullets this week.
(3) What breeds do you have?
Two Light Brahmas, one Old English Game bantam, and one Golden Sebright bantam.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
Haven't really had them long enough to determine, but we're very excited to watch them grow and (hopefully) start laying eggs. At three weeks old, they already have very distinct personalities!
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Gardening, archery, hanging out with my dogs, computer games, reading. Getting into soap making. Hubby brews beer and makes bread.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
Hubby and I have two dogs. We just moved from a suburban area to a semi-rural area and are enjoying it immensely. We've wanted chickens and goats for years but never had the space or lived in a place that allows it before now.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
BYC kept coming up in search results while I was doing research into having chickens. Seemed like a good resource and place to go when I have questions.
