When I went off to college, my mom took the term empty nest syndrome literally and adopted chickens! What a surprise when I first returned home for a visit. That was almost 2 years ago.
I myself am a first time chicken mom- hatching eggs to add to my moms flock (since I live in the city). I have 41 rescued eggs in my incubator. I rescued them from the biology department at my university, who was going to destroy them since they were done with their chick development lessons and had extra eggs. They are of unknown breed and are not all at the same developmental point! It’s all going to be a surprise.
