New Chicken Mom

Hello. My name is Lisa and I am finally a chicken mom. Let me introduce you to my babies. They are so much fun to watch. Right now we have 6 and since we live in a housing development, that is probably all we will have. Gotta keep peace with the neighbors, ya know. We are in the process of building a coop with a run. I will post pictures when it is done.

I knew someone would ask. I’m not really sure. I bought them at Rural King. Told the guy I wanted the least chance at getting a rooster but I wanted a good egg layer. These are what we brought home.

I think you may be right. My grandmother had chickens but they were just the standard white. There weren’t as many choices.

Welcome! They are so cute! They look like barred rocks! Awesome breed. We wanted a couple this season but someone in front of us bought ALL of the pullets. I hope you got some so I can live vicariously through you!
