(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
This is our first time to have chickens but I have wanted them for a long time. They were hatched on May 13th and May 20th and we got them on May 27th.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
We have 6 chickens, which is the maximum for our city ordinance for backyard chickens
(3) What breeds do you have?
Each breed is different. We have a Rhode Island Red, Ameraucana, Maran, Barred Rock, Plymouth Blue, Buff Orpington
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
We are animal lovers and our hope is to just enjoy them as pets. As a small child one of my favorite things on my Grandma's farm was going out to gather eggs.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Gardening is my primary hobby. Time in the mountains is high on the list
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I am married to a wonderful man, Matt, who built me an amazing chicken coop. I am a financial officer at our church and have worked there for about 15 years. We have two daughters, two son-in-laws and the most perfect grandson around!
We have two Goldendoodles and three cats. As I said, we love animals.
