Welcome. I have a easter egger that is my miracle hen, and her name is Grace. She lived through a C1 fracture. My vet said she should not be alive. Unfortunately, my vet shared her story with other vets and I received a phone call from U of NC....they wanted to study her. I told them "over my dead body". Then they wanted to buy her. I tried to stay calm when I declined this as well.

She healed in an odd way, so her wing is always drooping and when she lifts her wings they are not even at all. At night she sleeps inside - I worry about a bad hit to her neck. However, she is very much a "flock" bird, so against my better judgment, she spends the day outside.
