Hi All. I am just so thrilled with this site! I've never joined a forum but this has been so helpful for me as I start on my brand new journey of chickens. I just hope someday I will know enough to be able to help others. I am a first timer raising chickens. We got five chicks from the local Murdochs; an Araucana, a Buff Orpington, a Barred Rock and two Partridge Rocks. We are hoping we get 1-2 dozen eggs a week once they start laying and can completely offset us buying eggs at the store. Plus they are just the cutest things, and are quickly becoming family. They're four weeks old and growing daily. Here is a picture of them this evening perched on a piece of wood......
