Hey! My name is Kelly and I am new to owning and raising chickens! We got 12 chicks on May 16. I am loving every minute of it, but know I have a LOT to learn.

I started out with 4 RIR, 3 Ancona's, 2 Blue Laced Red Wyndotte, 2 easter eggers and 1 Maran. I lost 2 RIR the first couple of days, an easter egger last week and one of my Wyndotte's today. The easter egger was not expected to make, but it was her last one so I took him. My wyndotte seemed good until yesterday, but she never did grow like the others so not what happened. It's sad to see them pass away, but I understand that is how it works sometimes.

This was the day we got them (5/16).

Congrats on your chicks! They are ADORABLE! Seems like they are happy and having fun exploring. Those are some great breeds you've gotten. Do they have names? I love the one in your avatar.
