My name is Heather Marie. I have had my first set of chicks since May 1st, and my second since June 5th (I was waiting on particular chicks). I have 2 Buff Orpingtons (one ended up being a roo), 2 golden sex links, 2 black cochins, 1 delaware pullet (at least that's what I believe she is, if not, she's an ideal), and 4 of what were sold to me as Ameraucanas but it turns out they're Easter Eggers, the EE are the 2nd batch. I also ended up with a RIR cockerel in my batch but he went back to the store at 6wks old (turns out he was a special order for a customer, so he went to the rightful owner). So right now I have 10 pullets and 1 cockerel. It's been amazing to watch them grow and change. I built the coop and exercise pen myself, which was a lot of work, but so worth it! I'm hoping to learn things from this group!

Your hens and chicks sound adorable! Do you have any pictures? :)

Hi :welcome

Glad you could join the flock! What. A lovely flock you have there, congratulations. I too love raising chicks. As you say it's amazing watching them grow and develop into their own. You have certainly come to the right place for lots of learning. Be sure to ask any questions that you may have, everyone here to help and very friendly.

Enjoy BYC and all the chicken chat :frow

Hi Heather Marie, welcome to BYC!

It sounds like you have a nice mixed flock started and that you're having fun with them.

Nice to have you here!

Hopefully I do this right. I'm going to have to learn the format for these forums! lol I just went out and took some pictures of the big chicks, didn't have any updated because I've been taking a lot of video lately of my roo crowing lol. It's really awesome to hear!! I also took some updated pictures of the little chicks.

Thanks for sharing the photos with us, you have a nice looking flock!
