New chicken owner in PA

Hello all. I’m new to raising backyard chickens. We live in Pennsylvania. I currently have five 6 week old chickens and two 1 week old chickens. Four are buff orpingtons and three are supposed to be Rhode Island reds although I question that. We are getting our coop all set up now and moving the ladies out soon! Looking for a community to bounce things off of should something go awry. I have a German shorthaired pointer so our chickens will not be free ranged as I wouldn’t trust that dog with a chicken! After all, she’s bred and trained to hunt birds so can’t blame the dog!
