New Chicken Owner

Hi my name is Rebecca, I am a new chick owner in Oklahoma. I have 8 chicks that are now 4 weeks old. I spend a lot of time with them and I was wondering about coop training. Do people go into their coop and spend time with their chicks during their week long "shut in" coop time? I don't think I can just leave them in there and not go and visit them.

Hi Rebecca and welcome to BYC. I have only left checks in their adult coop for 3 days for familiarity purposes, before letting them out. There’s no reason not to spend time with them in the coop, if you are comfortable. Here are some helpful links:
