Hi!
I posted earlier about wanting to rehome the four pullets my family purchased today and now I’m having second thoughts. Let me explain!
After bringing them home my sister questioned whether it was safe to raise chickens during this time of the avian flu spread. With three young children I felt panicked that I had made the wrong decision by bringing the chickens home.
I would love any feedback about this as I’m very new to the world of backyard chickens. Thank you!

Welcome to BYC I am glad you joined 😊

Welcome to BYC.
Avian flu does not transfer to humans.
Chickens do require some time and an initial investment. Do you have a coop and a covered run already?
Thank you. My husband is going to be building the coop and covered run next weekend. They’re currently safe in the brooder in the garage where they’ll stay for a some weeks. I hope I used correct terminology! :)

Yes that's the correct terminology, but don't worry too much about that. Hello and welcome to BYC! There isn't a better place for learning how to raise your poultry. Ask as many questions as you want, but remember to have a little fun too. :woot
