New chicken owner

Hello, I'm new to raising chickens but I'm hooked! I've inherited a couple of bantam hens from a friend who moved to Texas and she also gave me a black Silkie, the kids aptly named Blackie but I have a sinking feeling that she might be a he. S/he is still a little nervous of Nutmeg but is making a bit of a racket in the morning. I have no problem with a rooster. I grew up in the country but I have a feeling my neighbours might object... Does anyone have any ideas.

Hi, those little bantam hens can be showing their dominance over the silkie. Just keep an eye on S/he and look for signs of picking.

Thanks for getting back to me Redsoxs, I was wondering if a rooster can be prevented from crowing or if I have to return it from whence s/he came? I'm probably flying under the radar as it is...
