Hey I have a chicken question. The first chick (brown chick) I got I have had for 10 weeks and got as a small chick from tractor supply. I have one ( black chick) that is roughly 13 weeks and is bigger than the first one I got. Black chick is bigger than brown chick and also pays a lot more attention to us when we are out there, it tilts it's head to look at us and the other two will get behind it if I am messing with their food and water. Do you think black chick is a rooster and brown chick a hen?

It is possible that the black chick may be a rooster by the behavior you describe. I've found that young cockerels sometimes tend to be a little more curious and "brave". However, a picture would really help!

Ah. Seems you have a bantam Mille Fleur D'uccle (brown). Pullet by the looks of her. This explains the smaller size. Bantams are smaller chickens, by the way. (Didn't know if you knew that or not.

) The black one isn't showing major signs of a roo yet. If it is a roo, you should be starting to see larger, redder combs and wattles. It usually starts at about this age so you should be seeing signs soon if "he" is in fact a he. Otherwise, they both look like girls to me. By the way, the black one looks to be a Jersey Giant or maybe an Australorp.
