should i put them in the coop and lock them up in there for a few days?

or can i put them in the run with the coop door open and they will eventually figure it out?

i know that i have to keep them in the run for a week or so, until they become familiar with the run.

Thoughts?

Chicks or chickens?. Feed and water IN THE COOP, roosts and nest boxes IN THE COOP. Keep them in for several days to a week, depending upon age and weather. Then they will enjoy being out, but must come in for food and water. And still you might have to shoo or carry some in for a night or two.

Eventually can I take the food and water out and put in to the run?
