new chickens in the coop

I just adopted 6 new chickens into my coop. I'm not sure what kind they are or even how old they are. How long will it be before they begin laying. They are being very antisocial. How long will it take for them to adjust? They also dont seem to like my nesting boxes, what should I do? Also how long should I keep them in the coop? Thank for any help:cd

Keep them in the coop for at least 2 weeks so they'll recognize it as home.
