My mum and I love chickens, we always have and probably always will. We got our first hens a few years ago, they were so sweet and friendly ! The thing is, we also adopted a dog, he's also sweet and friendly ... just not with chickens. After a horrible incident we decided to think about what was fair, having a henaholic surrounded by hens, just having hens, or just having a dog. We decided to keep the dog as we had no hens left by then. He would always sneak out windows or if people came he would run away on their watch and get to the hens. A few months later my mum came home with two little hens, or we thought. The person had sold us males and we had to give them to good homes as the neighbours were complaining about the noise ! In the country side !!! Anyway, I just got hens this weekend after a long and hard construction session. Their coop is completely covered over and dog proof. I'm so excited to start a new adventure with my two new girlies

Glad you joined the flock!

Welcome to BYC. I'm afraid I wouldn't trust a "few (?) times "chicken killer to see the light and come over to the good side. Whenever he has the chance he will take it.
