New chickens not laying?

We just recently added 4 new hens and a rooster into our flock this past weekend. The day after we got them, we had three eggs from the new ones and 4 eggs from our current flock. Well now it’s Wednesday and they haven’t laid in two days. They’re only a 1- 1 1/2 years old so they should be lying consistently, right? The person we got them from said she didn’t feed them and they just free ranged and ate bugs.. I’ve been feeding them treats because they were pecking eachother over food when we first brought them here. We just extended their run an extra 12 feet.. maybe I’m being impatient but I just wanna know why they laid the first morning and the past two days I’ve only gotten 8 eggs when I have 12 hens!

Note: only four of the hens we already has were laying. The other three should start laying soon as they’re about 6 months old. I was expecting 8 eggs a day, the lady we got them from said they lay everyday.

They'll start laying again when they get over the stress of the move, the diet change, and being introduced to the new flock. Those are probably the last eggs you'll see out of them for a couple weeks.

Okay that’s what I thought. I was thinking they were just stressed out.

They are stressed out, and any stress can halt egg production for a time. The will restart when they are ready, whenever that is. Your original birds are also stressed. Change is hard!

Yep, moving stress.....then they might molt 'tis the season.
