I have been raising chickens here in Orem for about 2 years now and some of my chickens have died so I was wondering if anyone near Orem is selling different kinds of laying hens? I am only looking to get about 4 more. Also I was wondering how long chickens keep laying eggs and when is a good time to slaughter these and start again?

Welcome to BYC. Egg laying longevity depends upon the breed. Sex links, production leghorns and other production breeds tend to 'burn out' by their third year. Other breeds may lay throughout their lifetime - decreasing numbers of eggs each year. To perhaps locate local birds, type your state in the search bar and locate your state thread. Perhaps someone there can help you.
