My husband and I are new chicken owners. We bought our 15 chicks at our local producers cooperative and added a young goose to raise with the chicks. We have three of each of the following breeds: Golden Laced Wyandotte, Brown Leghorn, Red Cross, Buff Orpington, and Speckled Sussex.
We live close to College Station, Texas where I teach at Texas A&M and are developing a new homestead on several acres of family property. We love to garden, raise butterflies, and look forward to the benefits of having a flock of chickens! I came to backyardchickens.com to learn from experienced back yard flock parents!!
