New Chickens

My wife and I would like to buy two hens to put in our back yard. We do not want to get chicks as we have a one year old and run a day care, but we would love to have some hens. Does any one know where I might be able to get some adult hens (near Radford, VA) or have any words of advice for some first time chicken owners.

You may also check out your local 4H. Often, a 4-Her might be willing to sell an adult hen.

Petfinder has chickens also.

Thanks, I'm definatly going to check out the 4H, I didn't even think of that till you'd mentioned it, but it makes so much sense.
