I recently ordered day old chicks from mypetchicken. I mainly tried to find friendly chickens, as these will be pets. I ordered one of Belgian D'Uccle bantam, silkie bantam, Plymouth Rock, speckled Sussex, cream legbar, and an Easter egger. These are set to ship august 4th. We were going to get the Cochin too but that would push the ship date back to the 11th. What do you guys think of the breeds chosen? Would it be worth it to change the order and wait the extra week for a white Cochin or are these plenty friendly enough? Thanks :)

Our mixed flock includes a few of your choices (Plymouth Rock, Speckled Sussex and Easter Egger). Not sure how representational my experience from other folks, but in our flock one of the Plymouth Rocks is very sweet, the Easter Egger is shy about anything new but friendly to us, and the Speckled Sussex are kind of ornery but good tempered (sort of like ornery little kids

Hope you enjoy your new little ones!

thanks for the reply!
Hopefully we can get insight from others too that have the other breeds from my list, and if they think the Cochin is worth waiting the extra week. Hoping people have had good/friendly experiences with these, as I tried to do lots of research :)
