Hi Everyone, my friend got eggs off of ebay and had a few extra. I put them under my broody silkie and 2 hatched today. Does anyone have any idea what breed(s) they may be? Thank you :).

Thank you everyone :). They ordered a wide array (from bantam/small breeds to giant/rare breeds) and put everything in their incubators, with the leftover 6 eggs coming to me and my broody silkie :). They were just hatched today. I will post pics as they come :). I love this site, thank you all for being so helpful and supportive :).

You can narrow it down a bit by looking at the egg size. If the eggs fit nicely in a commercial egg carton, you have standard size chicks. If they are about half that size, bantams.

That makes good sense, thank you, the eggs were just slightly larger than my silkie sized eggs :).

I have a question, I had 2 chicks hatch and the other eggs did not develop. My friend who had the remaining eggs only had one viable chick hatch from her batch (she candled the others and they were not viable). Would my broody hen accept her lone chick if I receive the new chick tomorrow? My friend is worried and doesnt want him/her to be alone. I will attach a pic. Thank you :)
