I've not posted anything to this site before but I've been reading and learning from the posts for quite a few years now. My husband and I live on an 80-acre mini farm in Southwest Michigan. I've raised quite a few chickens from day-old chicks so I have a little bit of experience. But, I have a problem with one of my 6 week old chicks that I've never encountered before: She has a huge lump on her chest which I originally thought was her crop. The lump is very soft. None of my other 16 chicks have this issue. I have chick grit available in their coop. She is a little lethargic but still able to get around quite easily. I'm thinking it's a tumor and not an impacted crop. Any advice is appreciated!

Hello and a very belated welcome to BYC! :frow Nice to meet you.
Are you positive it's not her crop? Chicks that age can still suffer partially impacted crops. I'd isolate her in a crate so you can monitor her poops, food and water intake and examine her crop at roost time and when you get up before you give her any food or water to ensure it's empty.

A belated welcome to BYC.

I would recommend making a thread in the emergency forum. There are some knowledgeable members who monitor the threads there, and they are very helpful.
Good luck to you and the chick!
Have you tried this and included a picture?
