I live in Fischer, and a few days ago bought 14 adorable baby chicks. This is my first time as a chick owner. We have to refer to them as baby peeps as our small dog loves the word "chicken". I have six different breeds which I won't name at this time. My chicks are 4 days old. My concern is that one of them seems to have water in his poop. I'm giving them Electrolyte & Probiotic in their water every other time. They are all very active and healthy as far as I can see. Is this normal for one to have poops with water?

Hi :welcome

Glad you could join the flock! X2 what colour are the chicks poop? At 4 days they are making the transition from yolk they absorbed during hatch over to chick crumb. Sometimes the poop can be quite an alarming colour untill they get the digestive system up and running fully.

so glad you have joined us. And congratulations on your new baby Peeps.

Hope the poops improve, if not or the peep in question starts to look ill, then post in the emergencies section.

Please make sure the chicken loving dog never has access to those precious babies.

No, and I've only found this a couple of times, so I'm guessing all is fine. Thanks for replying...

Thanks for the information. They are 6 days old today. I'm sure all is fine as I haven't seen this anymore. I change their large box 3 times a day. I have 14 in all.......6 different breeds.
