new chooks

Hi. Just got three new chooks. Been a few years. One is eating the eggs!!! Week. They are young just started laying 2 weeks ago.

Hi, welcome to BYC! Feel free to ask plenty of questions.

If they're eating the eggs, they may be in need of calcium. You can buy oyster shell to feed them, or give them crushed up egg shell

You don't want an egg eater, the others will imitate her and you won't have any eggs for yourself.

Thanks everyone for quick replies. I read up like suggested and now get eggs out asap. A couple had small hole but we have blown an egg and will fill with washing up liquid if the problem become bad again. All seems well at the moment and in even lays double yolkers every few days!!! Huge eggs twice size of others and only hafpd them couple months. Great site by the way. Thanks. I live in southern Spain and my girls are the Andalusian equiv of R.I. Reds.
