I’m a Country girl from Illinois, who always wanted to live in town, and so I did. Now about 50 years later, I find myself in my little old dream house on a city lot in Northern CA, with 2 big loud crazy dogs. I’ve been growing fruit and vegetables and am running out of room.
Several neighbors have hens, and I loved their eggs, so I’d been thinking about having a few myself, along the lines of it‘s too expensive, I don’t have anyone to build a run, what if I run into the awful problems I’ve seen on Pinterest, I have too many projects already....
Then a friend wanted to give me a beautiful buff Orphrington hen who was picking on a smaller hen, and a RI Red that got along with her. I didn’t hesitate and have been working day & night for about 6 weeks getting a prefab coop, building a bigger pen, worrying.
I love finding this forum, and how answers come quickly!
