Sometimes, hens lay odd eggs. It may be due to not enough calcium, but often it is just a glitch int he system. If she continues laying eggs like this, then there may be a problem, but otherwise you shouldn't have to worry.

Hello there and welcome to BYC!

Is this from an young pullet or older hen? Young pullets can lay all kinds of funky eggs until they get their egg laying machines in gear. And even WHEN they are on a good layer feed and have oystershell on the side. But just the same make sure they do have these things at this time. Pullets need time to perfect their eggshell quality so if this is a young bird, give her time, a good diet and oystershell on the side. Limit the treats and free ranging time to they have plenty of opportunity to eat a healthy diet.

If this is coming from an older hen, as hens age, their egg laying machines malfunction and they can lay thin shelled eggs, rough shelled eggs, wrinkles, etc...Here is a nice article on Eggshell Quality and how they get this way...https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/common-egg-quality-problems

If you are on a mobile, you may need to down load a BYC app or something to use all the features here on this website. Stop by this section of the forums. Lots of others have the same issues when trying to upload pics here to BYC...https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/16183/mobile-feedback

There are also Stickies, (articles) at the top of the page on using a mobile here on BYC that might help you out.

You need to start a thread in that section and ask what is going on. Make sure to mention what type of phone you have as others may have the same issue or know how to fix it.

Lots of people have troubles with loading pics and using mobile devices. I use a laptop. Pics load SO much easier. LOL
