New Coop Design

Hi! I am designing a new coop and run for my chickens!

I'm looking at a coop design that is 5x10, a 20x20 run, and a 4x2 brooder that is half in the coop and half in the run.

I'm wondering if I should roof the entire 20x20 run or if I should roof a 10x20 section (for shade and weather protection) and then just predator proof the other half. I am wanting to give my chickens an opportunity to get sunshine.

I am not worrying about the cost.

Roof the entire thing. As long as your run is high enough that you can walk around in it they will still get sunshine coming in through the walls. I would also cover the walls with half inch hardware cloth if that also is not cost prohibitive for you.
