So this is a VERY rough draft of the plan which is mostly in my head ...I know I know thats a scary thought. The basic idea is 4 - 14x27 windows in the sidewalls with 8"x10' overhangs covered with 1/2"x1/2" hardware cloth, a 2"wide x 10' ridge vent PLUS 2 dormer windows size yet to be determined but they will be tilt out with automated open and close at an open temperature of 75 degrees and close at 70 degrees.
I have started construction and here is what I have done so far. First I had to move the old coop out..I attached 6 2x4s, 2 on each of the base 4x4 legs and 1 on each end for lifting. I raised the coop and put 5 6 foot pieces of 2" pvc pipe under the coop an rolled it to the new location. Next I purchased 3 4x6x10 posts as a base...then 2 2x6x10 pressure treated ground contact boards, 14 2x6 joist hangers with 9 2x6x8 pressure treated ground contact boards. 5 pounds of 3" deck screws. Then the fun begins, after cutting the 9 8 foot to 93 " I laid out the 2 10 foot boards with 7 layout 16" on center for the floor joists. As you can see I had EXCELLENT supervision on EVERYTHING that has to do with the new coop. I'm sad to say that it is not square...it is 5/16 out of square...I ask my a girl supervisor crew for a variance and they agreed. I have bored y'all long enough for today...next will be putting on the deck and laying out and cutting roof rafters...YIPPEE I get to do MATH and the thirum used to calculate rafters.
