My Coop
Hi everybody at BYC,

I am new, so please forward me to an appropriate thread if this has been asked before.

I just upgraded my coop to a larger coop and my chickens normally lay in the morning. But it is midday now and they still haven't laid and egg. Is this due to the new environment (even though it is in the same location). Should I do something to help encourage them? I have put golf balls in the new egg boxes.

I've been through that I bought a black Laying Australorp and it took her 2 weeks to lay again and she's pretty good at laying she lays 6 out 7 times a week!! So just give them time and they will produce!! :)

So yeah moving coops could be the problem but they are finee!! And welcome to BYC!!

Thank you, this puts my mind at rest. First time I moved coops, they laid straight away so that was why I was a bit worried. But this new coops is much bigger so they probably arent used to the space and I haven't introduced the new hens yet.

Yeaaah give them some time to get used to the coop and when they are confident to lay again they'll produce!!! :) your welcome
