Good morning! I'm currently in the drawing phase of a coop plan. I like having my flock on rotating pasture and am trying to maximize space with a trailer build.

I'll have a 6x8 footprint and plan a monitor roof that will supply 8 SF of ventilation. I plan to also leave permanent ventilation at the roof gables under a large eave, but this will likely be a minimal increase. I'd love to have a top-hinged window on each side that can be opened or closed as needed with season and weather. I really like the idea of a window that can be its own awning.

I understand top hinged nest boxes can allow rain and snow to enter at the hinge. Has anyone experienced this with top-hinged windows?

No because of the large eave overhang and where the window is positioned under the roof line.
